Treatment Planning

Before treatment can be started, a diagnosis must be made to determine what the problem is and what can be done to correct it. First, a set of records is needed. These include impressions of the teeth to be made in 3D digital images, x-rays of the head and teeth, photographs and medical/dental history. With these records, your orthodontist can determine what needs to be corrected and how this can be accomplished so that a treatment plan can be prepared.

A treatment consultation appointment will be arranged where you can be shown examples of the types of appliances that may be used and where the diagnosis, treatment plan and financial arrangements can be discussed.

Please ask questions you may have about orthodontic treatment. This should be the start of a continuing dialogue between the patient (parents), orthodontist and staff.
